Pamir Thompson was born in Istanbul and grew up in
Izmir, Turkey. She received her college training in
commercial art at Youngstown State University in
Ohio.  In 1976, she moved with her husband to Atlanta
and furthered her training by receiving a certificate in
art education from Georgia State University with a
ceramic double major.  She taught ceramics at Art
Station in Stone Mountain, Georgia for five years and
taught in Dekalb and Gwinnett counties.  

Pamir has participated in numerous juried art
exhibitions. One of her more recent
accomplishments was consulting with the Museum
of Arts and Sciences in Macon on an exhibit in
Ottoman art.  Her work has been exhibited at
Kennesaw State University (Nov 2008) and at the
Ottoman Art Show at Clayton State University
(exhibited in Feb 2009).

Pamir has been invited to participate in Congressman
John Lewis' multicultural art festival and is active in
the Atlanta art scene. She lives in Lilburn, Georgia
with her husband Dennis Thompson.
